home management system

Create your own home management system and automate your home

Hey mama!!

Managing a home is WORK. You have to cook, clean, manage the kids, and keep the house moving. Honestly, it feels like a mini business if you ask me

I want to help you create a home management system so you can get your time back and save your brain power for the other things in life. It’s time to feel like yourself again and not feel like you’re drowning in motherhood.

How to create your home management system

To make a home management system, you need to brain dump all the things you are responsible for. Get it out of your head.

Because we both know our brains are not the same as they were before kids lol. Brainstorming helps us see where we need the most help.

Step 1: Brain dump everything you’re responsible for

Grab a piece of paper or use the notes app on your phone and write out everything you need to keep up with. (I’ll share my list below so we can do this together.)

Here’s my brainstormed list (feel free to use it):

  • Meal Planning
  • Cleaning
  • Appointments
  • Finances

(I have two blog posts that dive into meal planning and the cleaning schedule I created. You can check them out here)

These are the things I wanted to create systems for because I was tired of keeping everything in my head.

I was tired of:

  • Cleaning the whole house in one day
  • Fighting the mental battle of what’s for dinner
  • Struggling to schedule my kids’ appointments on time
  • Trying to stick to a budget and work toward financial goals

Step 2: Decide where to keep your information

The next step is deciding where you want to keep all this information. Do you want it in a planner, on a whiteboard, in your phone? Think about where you would actually use it so it works for you.

If you’re struggling with where to put it, don’t worry. I made a system for you and all you have to do is plug your information in and roll with it. Truly a plug and play situation.

Step 3: Use a ready-made system if you need help

  • home management system

This is the home management system I made and use all the time to manage my home. It has cut down my mental fatigue and given me more time for my business, hobbies, and self care. I used to feel like I was drowning in motherhood and all the things.

I wanted life to feel easier, so I made a system. (Shout out to my Virtual Assistant days.)

Step 4: Build out your Home Management System

After you’ve decided where to keep everything, it’s time to build it out.

  • Set up your calendar
  • Pull out the whiteboard
  • Open your planner (Check out this blog post about the best planner for moms)
  • Use a simple sheet of paper
  • Or grab my Home Management System Template

Input your important dates, reminders, and all the information you’ve been keeping in your head.

Step 5: Implement and tweak as you go

Lastly, implement the system and tweak it as you go. Build the habit of using it daily, and if something doesn’t work, change it. Customize it to fit your home and your flow.

That’s it girl! That’s how you create your Home management system.

I took the guesswork out and created a Home Management System for you. All you have to do is plug in your information. As a mama, I know how little time we have, so having something already made for you makes life so much easier.
